The irony is number 8 relates to U.S. Constitution: Article 1, Section 8: Congress is supposed to raise taxes, especially during wartime, for infrastructure, education/arts, postal service as well as military, including death benefits.
1. Gay marriage is optional. No one in the US is forced to marry a gay man or woman. If you are not gay, the law does not concern you.
2. A gay kiss is the same as any kiss. Being gay is a trait of people, not of kisses. There is no black people kiss or fat people kiss. Oh, and it’s also optional. Nobody is forced to kiss someone of the same sex. Wow! You can sleep peacefully.
3. Adoption of children by gay couples is when a gay couple adopts a child from an orphanage, not a child from your home. If you are not gay and you are not a child in an orphanage, this law does not concern you.
4. Fox News is only one station among many. I, for one, watch other news outlets. No one in the US is forced to watch any TV station. If you watch it, it’s because you want to see it. So watch whatever.
5. If you are a Christian, quit reading Leviticus and Deuteronomy and start reading the Sermon on the Mount, and learn what tolerance is. PLEASE!
6. Abortions are not forced. If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one (NEWSFLASH–NO ONE IS PRO ABORTION! They simply believe that medical decisions should be between a woman and her doctor!) To reduce the number of abortions provide education and adequate birth control options. Do not defund Planned Parenthood. Your tax dollars are not going to abortions, they are going to healthcare for women.
7. Health care should be mandatory to all citizens of the US, not a privilege to the wealthiest citizens. Period.
8. Raising taxes on big corporations and the wealthy will not make them poor. It will make them SLIGHTLY LESS OBSCENELY WEALTHY. And before you scream about wealth redistribution, it’s been happening for years. The money is just racing UP. It NEVER “trickles” down.
9. The poor are not your enemy. They are in these circumstances for many reasons. Raising the minimum wage is not a cure, but it’s a step in the right direction.
10. No parent should have to fear for a child’s life (or for his or her own life) because that child is Black, Latino, Muslim, Jewish, female, fat, disabled, etc.
11. Stop thinking women/men have to learn not to be raped. Start teaching boys/girls about consent.
12. Pay attention: no woman is going to go back to the kitchen, no black people are going back to slavery, and no gay people are going back in the closet.
