Woodstock… July 2018

Many can learn a LOT from visiting Woodstock Museum and Woodstock area.

We found out the purpose and meaning of Woodstock festival. It was a gathering with music and arts, with a purpose and Aquarian meaning. Woodstock is also an arts town, and had many arts events dating back to early 1900s, thus all of the many arts and crafts stores, schools and museums. We also learned the true meaning of “hippie”, which was taken from Hopi Indians, who are about respecting land, earth, animals and each other, while being a part of the solution, not the problem. Destruction of one’s own environment is pure ignorance as the result won’t be positive.

We watched a 10-minute documentary of unseen footage, and in a really cool and comfortable auditorium. We also learned the “rainbow” flag isn’t exclusively for LGBT, but was part of Woodstock as a representation for “all-inclusive” and respect for earth and others without destruction. We also learned history from shop owners in the area: persons who attended the festival scared shop owners at fairst (because different — long hair, non-traditional clothing), but concert goers literally bought out entire stores with NOT ONE THEFT!! Again, respect for others.

And we were greeted by Miss Mystic, the museum owner’s cat. She actually came from the front porch of the home about 100-feet away, walked over quickly to get some hugs and rubs. And she even came out to say goodbye as well, then rolled around with a lot of smiles.

Then, we went to main part of town and this time actually did the uphill walk instead of just driving through. At the beginning of town is, of course, a huge natural foods grocery store and a CVS pharmacy, then starts the restaurants, shops, services all the way to Woodstock City Hall (after the shops, not pictured in this album).

There was also a festival in progress.

And the first thing seen upon entering Woodstock is Levon Helm Road: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/levon-helm-drummer-and-singer-of-the-band-dead-at-71-202155/
