Taking Jeff Bozos, oops, Bezos' money, and doing what he should have done with it, especially after revenue-losing #TaxCutsAndJobsAct increased Bezos' wealth, dramatically.
How much money do billionaires need? How many lifetimes do they believe they will live, while flying over human suffering, poverty, war zones, and broken infrastructure, all while raking in more profits from #TaxCutsAndJobsAct? Who are greedy, Insurrectionist Elect-billionaires trying to impress? Certainly not workers getting up, every single day to serve them, while workers barely have food on their own table or a home of their own, as Bezos flies from one luxury home to another. And Insurrectionist Elect-billionaires are certainly not impressing the impoverished areas their private jets fly over and around, while calling themselves, "world leaders," or worse, "Christians."
MacKenzie Scott sleeps more peaceful, making the lives of others better, lives that are more valuable than hoarding billions, jets, multiple homes, and other needless material things.
MacKenzie Scott's legacy will be cemented in history on the positive side, while Bezos' legacy will be forever linked to the Insurrectionist Elect and failure to support a black woman as a leader.
MacKenzie Scott is shaking up philanthropy's traditions. Is that a good thing?
On December 14, 2022 billionaire philanthropist and novelist MacKenzie Scott announced that her donations since 2019 have totaled more than $14 billion and helped fund around 1,600 nonprofits. But as much as the scale, it is the style of giving that is causing a stir; it's targeted at a wide spectrum of causes, without a formal application process and - it appears - no strings attatched.
It doesn't appear that Scott has been deterred by critics, and in November 2022, she outlined that her giving was targeted toward "supporting the voices and opportunities of people from underserved communities." In 2020, she announced that she had already contributed more than $586 million to causes supporting racial equality. Most of the initial grants have been to U.S.-focused initiatives, but some are international in scope like a $15 million gift to VisionSpring, a social enterprise that provides low-cost eyeglasses to workers in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
