Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that affects nearly three million people in the United States every year. But the most common sufferer may not be who you think. Click below to watch our official video.
*TRIGGER WARNING*: graphic content, sexual violence
The aftermath of what survivors experience is often hidden from the public. NOW-NYC wants to make sure that we raise awareness about the trauma that survivors experience, and that we also give survivors the resources and support they need to heal, too.
Check out the #HealMeToo campaign or get more resources and take action here.
Take Action!
The #HealMeToo campaign intends to raise awareness about the fact that sexual assault and rape are some of the leading causes of PTSD. We need your help spreading the word about the #HealMeToo campaign with others. Here’s what you can do:
- Share our campaign. Help us ensure survivors of sexual violence connect with the help they need.
- Protect vital programs that help survivors. Sign our petition to protect the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and the critical services it provides.
- Join NOW-NYC and Take Rape Seriously NOW. Join today to support our work against drug-facilitated sexual assault (DFSA) and to champion public policy that centers on survivors and challenges rape culture.
